Tweed Heads

This morning I decided to go further afield than my garden for a blip. There is a huge surfing event at Snapper Rocks, so I thought that if I parked the car at Point Danger, I could walk down and take some photos of the craziness surfers at the beach. This event is being televised world wide, so is quite a big do.

Little did I know that every surfing fanatic in the country would be at the event, thus parking their cars along the sides of every road within cooee of Snapper Rocks, including all through the streets of Coolangatta and Tweed Heads!

So on to Plan B. I have often lamented the fact that I have not seen one single beautiful leadlight window in any building in this area. Not a one! But when looking through some wedding photos I had taken in October last year, I noticed that the photos taken inside the church showed some pretty leadlight windows in the background. So off to the church I went.

I found the windows alright, looking dull and dirty from the outside, so walked around the gardens for some inspiration....but not a flower or bee in sight. Even a flock of crows across the road from the church were frightened off by a passing car!

In desperation, I headed to Razorback Lookout. Surely this town has some point of interest worthy of blipping! And this is what you see today, a view over Tweed Heads, taken from Razorback.

When Adam, my sixteen year old surfing fanatic son came home from school, I asked him when would the surfing competition be over; he told me probably one day next week.......

With that in mind, I think for the next few days I will look for inspiration in my garden again, it's far more interesting than Tweed Heads.....or find another small town to take photos at, where every surfer and his dog have not parked their car!
