Snow Down Under

GARDEN TOUR:DAY 5

Turning the corner, another heather bed. When we planted them they went in groups of five. You can see the gap in the wall we came through from the courtyard, with a plate on one side & a piece of drift-wood with succulents growing out of it, on the other. The incinerator chimney to the left. And two maples either end - both seedlings.
Books tell you to trim the heathers with 'gentle curves', not unlike a ladies bosom (!). Twice a year upright Rod, married to the lovely Lyn, trims them for me. He does this with a weed eater & makes a great job.
I think the view from the other end, looking back is much better. I'll do that tomorrow.
