Frosty Homestead

15 degrees (fahrenheit) and falling. Another 8 inches of snow fell on Northern Virginia closing school, the government and work!

Here is shot my house on the right and my neighbor to the left. I see now that such fun, dramatic shots will require a tripod to get the focus I'd want, but this is better than I expected. Perhaps the promise of such shots will inspire me to pick up a low end DSLR in the future. The eye and brain see the drama of such scenes and it would be nice to try to capture it. All in good time.

I took this as my 10-year-old took a break from doing absolutely nothing today to help me clear the walk and driveway before it froze into solid ice. I'm afraid that we've only set things up to freeze simply into a thinner sheet of treacherous ice. Our predicted low tonight is... one degree. School is already canceled for tomorrow but I haven't yet heard about work.

I may just make an executive decision to go skiing again.
