Near Sumburgh Head

At last, a day off, and a chance to get out and about with the camera. This week is Chris A's last week with the Company, so I popped down to Sumburgh to get some photos of him at work..

He's been with the company for forty years. I find that absolutely astonishing.

I worked with Chris in Unst for a while, and we had a good time back then... Those were the days when it was standard operating procedure to crash at least one car every weekend. Legendary times indeed, and with the new regimes in life, they are guaranteed to be gone forever.

There aren't many of the old Guard left now, and the company seems a little bit colourless as a result.... Sad times.

Having done that task, I spent some time wandering around taking photos, then popped in on Mark and Susan for a cup of tea. Most pleasant.
