Old London Town ...

Spent the day in London yesterday and found the London of my youth missing! It was all gentrified and sanitized ... no-where more so than Carnaby Street.

Now I know that when I went there in the Eighties there were plenty of people that thought it was already long gone, but it was still full of independent traders selling mad stuff you couldn't find anywhere else, it was still full of youth, Mods and Skinheads strutting around owning the place ... there's nothing left, it's all gone corporate ... but if you take a turn down a side street and take another turn off that and pretty soon there's some of that all grit they've been trying to sweep under the carpet ... believe it or not, this little vignette is not more than two hundred yards from Leicester Square!
