The Tyne Bridge presents a dramatic landmark that evokes the spirit of Tyneside the world over, and continues to bring a warm glow of homecoming to returning Geordies
The Swing Bridge made a huge contribution to the economy of Tyneside, as decent sized ships could ply their trade up the river. It still attracts much attention when it swings open to allow boats to take people on sightseeing trips.
These bridges are much photographed, but they always give me pleasure, so here is my blip for the day.
