Portobello Columns
As it was such a nice day, we decided to cycle to Portobello. We had an ulterior motive, as we wanted to get 10 Turf Zones in 15 minutes. The surrounds and the esplanade at Portobello were an ideal place to try. One of the zones was by these 3 columns, so having successfully achieved our aim we came back to look at them. They are from the garden of Argyle House nearly and are fine examples of press-moulded Coade Stone. The inventor, Eleanor Coade, ran her business in Lambeth for 50 years.
