Conversion

Worshippers once prayed
On bended knee
For the conversion of sinners
Bathed in the blue play of light
From the stained glass windows
That now are broken
Neglected and forgotten
But will be resurrected
In the obligatory
Conversion to flats.

This is the derelict Methodist church in Herne Bay High Street that has long been in disuse - apart from pigeons - and was recently sold to be converted to 11 flats on the welcome proviso that the façade is kept.
