Nelson's breakfast

We dodged the snowstorm that diverted to the mid-Atlantic, but it's bitterly cold still. I saw a brief glimpse of a chipmunk while offering Nelson peanuts on the back step.

I'm tired from watching the Oscars last night. Ellen was charming, and silly, we have seen her perform live and she is a genuine comedy legend. Kudos to my blip friend, Katherine Ellis, Day of the Diva and her part in helping Steven Price and Gravity win the Oscar for the best film score . What a powerful voice for a powerful film ending.

The Oscar winner for best supporting actress, Lupita Nyong’o, is a local Hampshire College Alum, attending when G was there. Another Hampshire grad, John Kitzen, co-produced the Oscar winning short, "The Lady in Number 6" The 39-minute film, which won an Academy Award for Best Short Documentary, documents the story of Alice Herz-Sommer, who was the world’s oldest pianist and oldest Holocaust survivor. When she and her young son were imprisoned in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, Herz-Sommer played more than 100 piano concerts for the other prisoners and the camp guards. She practiced piano daily until her death on February 23, 2014, at the age of 110.

For the Record,
This day came in cold and cloudy, we missed a big snowstorm!

All hands healthy
