Surprise trip to Port Douglas!

As a special treat for my Birthday, Chris planned a surprise weekend away to Port Douglas which is a beautiful little seaside town about an hour north of Cairns. We stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel in a gorgeous room complete with king size bed, a proper coffee machine, apple TV and ipad! After spending the past 6 months in hostels, this was a real treat! The treats didn't stop there- Chris had booked us into a spa where we were both having a salt scrub treatment which was so nice! Later on that night we headed out for a meal and beers. We went to one bar called The Iron Bar where they were hosting a Cane Toad racing event. It was really funny! Chris decided to get up and race one of the toads (which was called Camel Toad) and won! He won a bottle of cava and free admission into a crocodile wildlife park which was pretty cool! Another special treat for winning the Cane Toad racing was that Chris had to get up first to sing on karaoke where he managed to successfully murder a Beatles classic ;-)
