Oral Health in #Cambodia
This little boy is being taught oral health care by our team in Cambodia. IMPACT believes that prevention is better than cure so we aim to teach children primary health care at a young age. In this session children were given a toothbrush and mirror so they could learn how to clean their teeth properly to avoid dental problems in the future.
Our local partner, the Lake Clinic, otherwise known as TLC, is a primary healthcare service which is taken by boat to floating villages on the vast Tonlé Sap Lake to the north-west of Cambodia.
The people who live and work on the Lake and its tributaries are among the poorest and most vulnerable in the country. The nearest healthcare available to them can be several days' journey by boat to reach. Unsurprisingly, disease and needless disability are rife.
