Dense

A brisk walk around Quidi Vidi gave us our quota of fresh air today. High winds and very cold temperatures have produced densely packed snow capable of supporting a person's weight. My son was able to summit a particularly large drift across the trail without the aid of snowshoes.

The winds had tapered off and temperatures were warmer (just one degree below freezing). So the exertion of clambering over the snow kept us quite warm during the circuit around the lake.
