MMR jab day :-(
I took Eva back to Rhythm Time today. We met Jenny and Eva there too. Eva absolutely loves Rhythm Time, her face just lights up and beams when we're there. They recommended Eva go into the toddler class, which is fine by me. I did ask if it would hinder Eva as she can't 'toddle' yet, but I was assured she'd be just fine. It was the first Rhythm Time Eva had been to where she could crawl, as the last time we went was before Christmas. Eva was well away, crawling into the middle of the circle and crawling after the children. It was so wonderful to see the changes in how much Eva joins in with now, I've taken her on and off since she was a few months old and the time flies by when we're there, the class is always over way too soon.
I brought Eva home, had a quick snack, then it was time to get back in the car to go to the doctors for the dreaded vaccinations. Eva had to have 3 injections today, including her MMR. Mike had been with me at Eva's first 2 lots of jabs, but I was taking her on my own today and I was worried about how she would be and take it. I have to say the nurses are just so lovely down at the doctors. I sat with Eva on my lap and cuddled her into me and just gently sang Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes to her, her latest favourite (she points to her head usually and has pointed to her nose and my nose once) the nurses counted 1, 2, 3 and each gave her 1 injection in each thigh at the same time, then there was a little gap until the 3rd and final one. She did cry for a few seconds, but she wouldn't have seen what was happening as I was hugging her back towards me and within no time, she was fine. The next jabs aren't until she's nearly 4 now, just before she starts school I think. Back in the waiting room, Eva was broadly grinning at everyone and drew the attention of a lovely old lady called Peggy who was so lovely with Eva. She told us she was 85 and had been having trouble breathing, which was why she was at the doctors. The walk back to the bus stop was just ridiculous, so I offered to take her home, but she was going to Sainsburys, so I took her there instead and told her next time, to sort herself a lift out with the Ring and Ride and to get the number from the doctors or the library or get a friend or relative to help her organise it.
Eva was shattered when we got back, so had some milk then went down for her sleep for 2 hours. She had her lunch when she woke, then when Jake got in from school, he asked if he could give Eva her bottle (now she's at nursery, I do tend to still give her a bottle even when she's home in the afternoons around 4ish) I got today's pic of brother and sister and I love it. Eva absolutely loves and adores her big brother and he absolutely loves and adores her, he is such a great big brother, and their faces light up when they see each other. Xxx
