Happy St David's Day!

Happy St. David's Day! Or, in Welsh, Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant! A lot of English people don't know what St David's Day is, so let me explain...

St David's Day, March 1st, is the day that we Welsh celebrate our patron saint, St David. We usually pin daffodils to our jackets, sing the national anthem, wear our amazing national dress (no joke, that is the Welsh national dress!) and maybe hold an Eisteddfod. An Eisteddfod is a celebration of Welsh culture, we have one big one every year but lots of schools put on little Eisteddfod's, too. It usually involves poetry, literature, music, Welsh language recitation, and so on. It's simply a day, like St Paddy's Day, to celebrate our own culture and heritage.

Thankfully the daffs decided to bloom for us today, so our kitchen was looking nice and Welsh - I got a few comments about the flag in the window! It was set to be a fairly quiet day until I discovered that two old friends - a Mr Sean Ruston and Matthew Rogers - were back in town. It ended in me downing a pint for Warwick Labour and having a lovely catch-up with the old Sabb team from my first/second year. Good times.
