Wet welcome

Home. Three days and 1,705 miles after leaving Casares, near Marbella, on the Costa del Sol, we arrived back in rainy Kent this evening. What a brilliant marathon it has been. Three countries, some of the most fun roads in Europe, in the comfort of a clever convertible with great driving dynamics.

We have enjoyed sun, snow, and a near white-out - very briefly - in the high Pyrenees. It has been a great trip and a very companionable one with my lovely daughter (another blipper) hannahxd sharing the driving. Quelle surprise, we exited the Channel Tunnel to emerge in rainy Kent and a sodden drive up the M20.

Nothing could dampen our mood, though, and this view of the corridor at our hotel in Montauban this morning perfectly captures the way we'll remember the trip. Beautiful light, all the way. Well, almost ...
