Some 50 years ago it would seem unimaginable that we would be shopping using these. It would be unconceivable that we would then transfer those goods into cars that most of their present ownership you never own outright.
At one time you could play football on the streets because there were no cars, the gutter was something you kicked cans in and watched the rain flow along.
