Backside
Day one of a new course - Reading Photography at the Stills Gallery. This week - how a camera can make form: explaining how the choices a photographer makes when pressing the shutter change the way a photograph is read and understood. It was much better than it sounds.
I'll be applying my new found knowledge to comments I leave on blip in future. No more 'This is nice, what is it exactly?'. Instead expect:
'You have shuttled successfully between the reality of texture and the affectation of emphasised texture; this is a statement about the difference between something existing and something being noticed.'
And having now stupidly made myself a hostage to fortune, today's blip is the backside. The front is all glass and sparkle.
