Chihuly

I've been a fan of Dale Chihuly since I came across his exhibition at Kew by accident. Since then I've seen his work in Las Vegas, Boston and London. As we were in London this weekend and I had spotted that he was exhibiting at the Halcyon Gallery we called in this afternoon. I was emotionally unprepared for the impact his work has on me and much to the embarrassment of N got quite tearful. I think it's something to do with the fact that the sheer scale, vibrant colours and light just don't get adequately captured in photographs, and to see it face to face is overwhelming.
