Where are all the people?

Today we spent some time at Katara, Doha's Cultural Village. Basically a town built to host arts, music and events. It was a bit surreal, almost spooky. We had the streets to ourselves, a beach with hundreds of loungers to ourselves and a whole amphitheatre to ourselves. Turns out I put on one hell of an opera!

From a distance, downtown looks impressive but it's a web of busy roads and construction sites up close. The only thing to do there was the mall.

We walked along the Corniche to Balhambar Restaurant and ate far too much Lebanese food and watched the sun set over the city.
