Sint Johanneskerk Nes (Dongeradeel)

The Church, originally dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, is a single-nave Church from the 12th century. The four-sided closed Gothic choir from the 13th century is decorated with lisenen, a round arched Corbel course and dental list. The tower was built on a remainder of reduced westwork. In the tower with a mechanical tower clock hangs a loud clock (1477) by Gert with images of Madonna with child and John the Evangelist and a loud Bell (1686) by Petrus Overney. The Lancet date back to the 16th century. The tower was partly beklampt In 1604 and the Interior of the ship equipped with a wooden barrel vault. In the church a pulpit (1775) in the rococo style (attributed to Yge Rintjes), a men's bank (1775). The organ was built in 1906 by the firm m. Vermeulen to Woerden. The Church is a national monument.
