Who goes there?

Calling all twitchers: I'll give a gold star to the first person who can tell me what species of bird this is. I don't know what species it is and I'm the sort of person who likes to know such things, so I'm appealing to the Blip community.

Spotted on the Bow Locks (don't laugh) on the river Lea near Three Mills Island in East London.
