Barrenjoey

The lighthouse at the end of Palm Beach.
Built in 1881 this lighthouse offers fantastic views of the beaches, inlets and national parks on it's doorstep. The walk to the summit is a steep 1 klm climb, and as the clouds were looking particularly ominous I decided this view would have to do today.
Good decision as the heavens opened about 20 minutes later.
This area was badly hit by a bush fire in September 2013. The rocks now clearly visible used to be covered by trees and thick shrubs.

(I believe this area is used in the Aussie soap Home and Away……I have never seen it, but I have seen the production vans here on a few occasions)
