On the edge

Not much chance of enjoying the view at Loganbrae Orchard out on Shipley today. But it didn't stop this pair from taking a seat and having a natter.

Shipley, just a few minutes from Blackheath, is a plataeu with plenty of opportunities for great views into the valley. But not today.

The only reason to be on edge there today was, waiting to discover if we were too late for the apple pies. The heated glass cabinet was empty when I arrived, but Jules came to the rescue just a few minutes later with a fresh batch of apple and blackberry pies.

It's sat prominently on the bench all day - look at me, look at me.

It's time is almost up - dessert beckons.
