Pretty ugly

When I first saw this vulture, I thought it was a carving or statue. I thought I saw his head move a little, but wasn't completely sure until he put his wings down and turned around to yell at one of his friends. Then he turned back and spread his wings again - it was amazing how long he could stand like that. I guess he was enjoying the sun.
I did my hawk loop and saw one hawk sitting in the nest tree and one sitting in a tree across the road, so I'm hoping they are readying the nest.
I also saw my first horned larks and banded gulls today.
