The Hopper

When we went to the Backyard Bird Shop, a locally owned store that caters to all things related to birds, they feed the birds in back, behind the store and you can stand there and watch them. They have a lot of birds and I thought...why don't we have more birds in our back yard? Well, we didn't have a hopper feeder and I decided we needed one, so I got a cheapie plastic one (because the other store has really, really nice ones at a premium price..yikes!) at our all purpose grocery that carries everything and got some no waste bird food and Bill put it in a good spot and, boy...the birds found it and they have showed up to indulge. It's been up for a few weeks now, and we seem to have more birds. Bill had the thistle feeder out, but this one seems to appeal to the finches and they have really been putting on a show today, as the weather is really nice. The sun is out and it was nearly 60 degrees today. Spring is in the air, at least for today.
