More and more life-change

I've started yoga classes at this beautiful ashram in northeast Portland. My teacher is a woman in her eighties who only started yoga a decade ago after a knee replacement. She is lithe, bendy as a child, strong as an athlete, and crystal-sharp of mind. What a model. I want to make her classes on Mondays and Fridays central to my life-plans.

I was taking pictures outside the center after my class and encountered this sensuous stone sculpture in a blast of morning sunshine.

My thinking is that if I'm going to have more technological privilege, more reason to get sucked into sedentary habits and screen-gazing, I have to balance that with some deeply intentional body-work. I'm working with a fitness coach on Tuesdays--a man of great heart, kindness, and sensitivity. I think that with his coaching and that yoga teacher's modeling, Bella (see yesterday's back-blip), and the great love that has come into my life, I have a wealth of opportunity for learning. How to apply all that wisdom and direct it to serve all beings? That's the question.

Speaking of wisdom, this ten-minute video about how Piglet and Eeyore came to an Understanding is all the wisdom I can hold today. If you have time to laugh and sigh, go for it. (I'm not crazy about the Disney graphics, but I do love the stories.)
