Alistair Carmichael

I was at a concert tonight of the Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir. This man is an Ileach (someone from Islay) and he was the compere for the evening. As well as being an MP and Secretary of State for Scotland, he was a really friendly chap. I asked for a photo and was chatting to him about Islay and we worked out (very quickly!) that my sister-in-law had been his English teacher in Islay, and that I know his sister's husband. It really is a very small world.

There was only one 'better together' joke all evening and it came from someone else!
