Derelict

Landed in Malaga at 10.30 Spanish time to be picked up in a lovely new 4series convertible by follower blipper carscribe and who also happens to be my mum! We're embarking on the long journey back to the UK, through Spain and France in 3 days.

Had a lot of distance to cover so had to do mostly motorway today and had lunch on the road. But as we were driving we saw some amazing birch trees stood to attention, tall and thin and all planted in straight lines. Naturally we stopped to get some pictures and spotted this beautiful derelict old building, which we unfortunately couldn't get closer to as it was gated off.

We were hoping to stay in Barcelona tonight but it's a long way from Malaga! So stopped just South of Barcelona in a Spanish Parador hotel in Tortosa. The hotel was in a 10th century castle on the top of a hill, with beautiful views of the town below. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and seeing as we're in Spain, opted for Rioja and paella.
