Urban Greek Village
This is my second full day in Athens. It is an amazing and beautiful city of over 3M. It is nestling between hills and green spaces and stretches as far as Piraeus on the Aegean Sea.
The old sections of this antique city cling to the foothills of the Acropolis. They retain an atmosphere of traditional Greek life and are absolutely charming.
We all come to visit Athens because of its glorious vestiges. But what about its Greek modern roots?
Today, I explored Plaka. It is a fascinating quaint area just below the Acropolis. Hardly any cars. Beautiful private residences. But also little cafés or family restaurants that invite you to sit down to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
So, my Blip for today attempts to convey the feelings I had when I was walking aimlessly through the narrow streets and alleys of this urban village.
