To Swing By

This is the swing bridge that makes the road connection between both sides of Ramsey harbour.

Or rather it would make the connection if the bridge was capable of swinging.....

It has been shut for many months now whilst repairs to the mechanism are completed.

It has been announced today that the repairs are going to take very much longer to complete than first thought largely, would you believe, because the wrong size ball bearings were fitted the last time it was renovated in 1980.

Do you know I have the distinct recollection that a somewhat similar argument was used then.

Anyway it will undoubtedly cause great inconvenience to locals and visitors alike. This will be particularly noticeable during the TT races in June.
