Whirling Dervish

A very busy day...as all the nations of the world came together under one roof!

Its International Day at Raffles International School.

Apart from all the stalls depicting artifacts from various countries, the opportunity is afforded to sample the delicious cuisine that comes from their kitchens. There is also a grand performance of dances and songs which bring to light the traditional cultures that sometimes get lost within the environment of an International school.

The children learn so much about each others homelands, enjoy tasting the different foods and watching the different dances and songs that permeate the day long celebration.

This year they were entertained by the Whirling Dervish!!! What a spectacle he created as he whirled incessantly to the beat of the drum and the soleful tone of the one stringed oud!!! There were more heads spinning by the time he'd finished his 15 min whirl!!

A day not to be missed.
