Damnonii's got me thinking macro and as 1. Our wedding anniversary is next week and 2. I want to photograph bits and pieces of jewellery for insurance purposes and 3. I like a challenge, I grabbed the macro lens tonight to photograph my engagement/wedding ring.

There's quite an art to photographing jewellery I think so I suspect will be trying out a few techniques over the next wee while looking for the best lighting etc. I saw an online course where light boxes etc were used to bounce the light around and deal with shadows. Time will tell if I get that detailed! But I can see how it would illuminate it better. Go big for bling and bokeh!
