With Harry Callahan's work for inspiration, my photography classmates and I were given the task to go outside to shoot for 45 minutes- with the emphasis on light as the primary subject matter. Overcast and frigid, it was quite a challenge!**

**And one of the highlights of class was seeing how immediately the influence of great work seeps into our own work! The teacher made an invaluable suggestion (don't know why I never thought of this before!) that we do this for ourselves - find & view the work of photographer/s we admire and really LOOK at it, and THINK about what is making it work and allow it to change the way we see and affect our own work! And when that is fully absorbed then move on to another artist!
