Great Northern Diver
Plan was for a trip to Dundee for the Iceland Gull in one of the local parks, but Mrs L was a bit under the weather, so I was sent out by myself. Keeping the Dundee day for when she was feeling better I decided to head to Peterhead for a Glaucous Gull. At 11:30 to undertake a 2:30 journey when we were expecting guests at 19:00, probably wasn't exactly the most sensible option, but hey ho.
Well, no Glaucous, but apart from that some really good birds. Great Northern Diver, Iceland Gull, Guillemot, Great Black-backed Gull and Turnstone all in the harbour and all providing excellent photos, plus RCB's choice of blip today a Little Gull.
After only an hour and a half it was time to head home again. A frustrating stop at Tescos where something appropriate for tea seemed as elusive as the Glaucous Gull, meant home at 18:30 with guests due at 19:00. Put guests off till 19:30, put the pizza in the oven - relax.
