Nature . . .

Does anyone have any idea sort of bird egg this is? I found it up on the cliff path today, it seems incredibly early for anything to have been laying eggs already. It is the size of a goose egg, and there are grey lag geese overwintering in the fields up there, but their eggs are very pale and not patterned at all.

This evening we stood in the front garden watching the northern lights. The sky was filled with streaks and curtains of light, mainly greens, blues and reds, an amazing sight, wonderful, but very difficult to take photos of! Our neighbours were out there too - in their pyjamas and dressing gowns!
