The Card Game

We went on 'The Red 'Bus Tour' today - getting on & off as we saw places of interest. This shot was taken at Camara de Lobos, Winston Churchill's favourite place, where he used to paint. There is even a plaque denoting where he and his easel sat!
Stopped on the way back to the Hotel for a meal at a small restaurant, where it was warm enough to sit outside. Actually sampled the local delicacy- a fish called espada, which is a grim looking fish but tastes gorgeous. It's cooked with banana.
Excitement is mounting as Carnival starts on Friday in Funchal and we have tickets in one of the stands for Saturday night's Parade. It's supposed to be like Mardi Gras in New Orleans only on a smaller scale. Hope this warmer weather stays for another few days.
