Gutted

We are in the process of redoing our facial boards and gutters. The previous gutters we installed in such a way that the water would flow into the soffit (which is the part of the roof that sticks out from the walls). Not happy that we have to do this. It's something that should have been spotted when we bought the house. There is some damage to parts of the soffit (in the front of the house) that is being repaired. Still, for a house that was built in 1914 it's in very good shape. Especially when you consider that the gutters were so crap.

We noticed the problem last Christmas when we had major snow and ice. We had icicles form on our house were icicles should not be forming.
