The Pink Lake
When i was a kid, every time we went to Albany, in WA, Australia, we would always look out for the Pink Lake. Its a tiny little Lake right beside the road, and it use to be (27 yrs ago) really bright pink.
The Pink is caused by the salt that is in the ground around this area, and when the water evaporated, it would leave this Pink crust of salt. I have recently moved back to my Home town, and i knew the lake filled with water through Winter this year, because it was a very wet one, and a extremely hot summer.
So anyways, i went down to Albany today and took my Nikon, because i knew i wanted some photos of it. I was surprised when i stopped at how much salt had formed. As you can see it was quite a bit this year.
This brings back so many childhood memories !!!
