Out on the mesh overhanging the River Ouse on the Millennium cycle and footbridge are dozens of padlocks left as mementos by folk since the bridge opened in 2000.

Some with inscriptions like this one, many more anonymous. I intend to place my own to mark the next stage of life's journey, once all is clear...
