The Big Bad Boys are Back!!

Unlike the Gang Gangs who sound like a creaking door, the Big Black Cockatoos call sounds more like a screech. It's not the most pleasant sound, but they are just so awesome and this morning I caught this character chomping into a Banksia cone for Breakfast. He wasn't too worried about me and sat there for ages having a lovely time.
He was sitting in the scribbly gum, one of my favourite trees, they all tell their own story and the scribbles are a fascinating subject in themselves.

For those Blippers who followed the fortunes of Lois and Lloyd Lorikeet, I'm happy to say they called in to let me know they were home from the Alternative Olympics this afternoon.

We are going to have a baby sitter look after the birds for a couple of weeks. We're off to South Australia to jump on board the MV Princess and spend 4 nights on the Murray River. We head off on Monday, and I'm not sure what the reception will be on our Paddle Steamer, so may have to back blip some of our images. It should be an amazing four days and I'm really excited about what birdlife will present itself while we're there.
