Little Peeper

The last few weeks my seven year old's class has read everything about birds, listened to birds, drawn about birds, written about birds, talked about birds - and hatched chickens. They have a hatchery box with different kind of eggs in their classroom and they've studied the eggs with lights making guesses which ones have someone inside and which ones not.

Today was the first day of their first chicken. This little Peeper, here few hours old, came out this morning just before the kids arrived. The pink tone is the red light.

No wonder they love their school.
