State House
I had to be in Concord today (the state capital)for an appointment. This is the state capitol building which houses the New Hampshire General Court, the Governor and the Executive Council. I've always liked this building, the way the sun hits the golden dome at the top. No sun while taking this though it did come out a bit later. The center statue visible in this photo, Daniel Webster. He was a US senator in Massachusetts. He was originally from New Hampshire and in 1957 a Senate committee selected him as one of the five greatest U.S. Senators. (Courtesy of Wikipedia). While Manchester, the largest city in the state was famous for its mills and factories, Concord is about 1/3 the size and more more of a socially aware and art-oriented city.
