Walking on the edge
They are working on the National Library of Scotland building on George IV Bridge in Edinburgh, putting up the ubiquitous scaffolding all round the frontage. They have boxed it in at street level and are taking the opportunity to advertise their collection and services on the hoardings.
I noticed that if you stood at just the right place it looked as though David Livingstone was not only an intrepid explorer but also a balancing act as he tiptoes his way along the barrier whilst, strangely enough, navigating his way using an atlas of the then unexplored continent.
Perhaps he'd been to Africa before and didn't let on.
