Strokkur, Iceland.
Not an easy take on an iPhone. I managed to take better shots on the SLR which I'm planning to upload onto Flickr in the next few days.
Last night's adventure into the Icelandic wilderness was rewarded with a good showing of the northern lights. Quite a result considering this was a first time out in search of them. Seemingly, they are not sighted as frequently as you might expect, even when the skies are clear. Even then, they may appear for just a few minutes before fading away again. I managed to get some great shots taken on 25 second exposures.
Today, an early start and a journey to see some of the other highlights (I'll write up thus in a day or so). Among them, the highlight was probably the geyser at Geyser. Strokkur blows every 8 minutes or so. The whole area is a mass of bubbling springs and blow holes and steam pours out of the earth - it's all quite extraordinary.
