Scarborough Spa Theatre's Sun Court.

The Sun Court Suite, part of Scarborough’s Spa Theatre, is shown in the foreground of this picture, while the sun shines on part of Scarborough in the background on the opposite side of South Bay. The Sun Court’s semi-circular structure is shielded by plastic glass, making for a pleasant sheltered sun trap suitable for open-air entertainment and genteel tea dances. The cliff behind the town’s buildings in the background is topped by the remains of Scarborough Castle, a former medieval royal fortress encompassing an Iron Age settlement, a Roman signal station, and an Anglo-Scandinavian settlement and chapel. Foundations for a wooden castle were built in the 1130s, but the remains of the stone structure visible today dates from the 1150s.

Big thanks to all who helped to put ‘Colourful Vessels in Scarborough Harbour’ into Spotlight. I feel most honoured and humbled. Thank you all so much.
