The Ascension of Christ
Stained glass window in the northern transept of St Botolph's Church, Shepshed. Installed in the memory of Charles Wood, the only son of Albert and Ada Wood, who was killed in WWI in 1916. His grandfather had been verger at the church.
This scene is full of pathos. A very young man is seated below the ascending figure of Christ. His mother and father look on in anguish from the left hand side trusting that their only son has been received into heaven.
Basil and I went to the open church coffee morning for coffee and chat. I took this with my Canon 100D and 40mm lens as I left.
