a whale's tail . . .

Spent hours on a vantage point above the ocean this afternoon, first foto-ing the iwi birds, so beautiful with their split, long, and graceful tails, rocks and shoreline, waves breaking . . . and then . . . was rewarded with whales! It turned into a very special day. It was really, really hard to chose just one to blip. I almost used the one of the high splash on the horizon, way out, which is sometimes all one gets! But really couldn't resist showing this one perfect one. That is the island of Molokai showing hazy on the horizon. A beautiful, bright, sunny, tradewind day.
