The aspirations of the Scottish people

This is one of the pieces of art that are housed in the Scottish Parliament. It is titled 'Hinterland' and is by Norma Starszakowna.

This particular piece hangs at the top of the stairs that lead from the Garden Lobby to the Chamber so I pass it a number of times a day.

The first line of the description beside this work says, "The work celebrates the achievements and aspirations of the Scottish people." In the year of our referendum on independence anything that celebrates the aspirations of the Scottish people is something to be welcomed.
