Life through the lens...

Plenty fish for sale!

As you can see there was plenty of fish for sale at Stephenson's shop in Newlyn this morning.
In spite of the storms the big trawlers have been out, although the smaller boats have only just started going out again.

The photo on the left is the weathervane on top of the Fisherman's Mission.
In the last few weeks they have been helping the fishermen, some of whom have lost their boats, and or fishing tackle, and been supporting them and their families through the bad times.
Bills still have to be paid even with no money coming in.
see the huge waves here

The other photo shows part of the wonderful display of fish.
We bought some Pollock, to make a fish curry for tea.

We then went on to Trengwainton gardens and a walk round.
Last year the magnolia were in full bloom ( see my blip for this day 2013)

Today the first flower had opened!
Just shows how far behind everything is because of the bad weather.
We did however enjoy our walk, and still the sun was shining!

Lunch of a very tasty carrot, coriander, lentil and coconut soup, at the Peppercorn Café, Perranuthnoe.
It then started raining, and so back here for a rest, before an afternoon walk.

Another lovely day!
