Arrived!

We didn't sleep very well because we're not used to traffic & lights outside our bedroom window & we didn't want to oversleep so we were awake every hour. I gave up at 4 & had a shower. The taxi picked us up at 5:30 to take us to Gatwick & we were in the air just after 8.

Arrived at Vila Vicêntia at 13:10 - 24 hours after we left home. After unpacking we went for a walk & got snacky stufffot lunch. I had a Coral beer (Madeira's own) & C had Madeira wine with his chees e & crisps.

We went for dinner to Terrace Ajuda. I had espatada (one has to) & C had pork mignon. I had the complimentary brandy, but C was too scared.

We shall sleep well tonight.
